Book an Appointment

To Book:

I book one month in advance. For example, I will open my books for submissions on January 1st and accepting appointments for the following month of February. Booking closes once all the slots are filled. I will always announce when my books are open or closed on instagram, and I am working on creating an email notification service for those who don’t use that platform. If you ask for an appointment while my books are closed, or for an appointment outside of the time frame I’m booking for, it’s unlikely you’ll get a response.

Right now, because of limited space, I am only able to take on a certain amount of new appointments. I wish I could do every tattoo, but sometimes I just can’t.

The clarity of your request is very important so that I am able to come up with the best possible design for something permanent. If your request is vague, it can result in me drawing something that is completely off mark. For this reason, if you’re too loose with your request, I may turn your proposal down. See also the deposit and drawing section to understand why clarity is so important.

Availability

Based on the information you provide in your form or consultation, I will determine if your idea needs a small, medium, large or full day appointment. Once we’re ready to set the appointment date, I’ll send a deposit invoice and a link to the schedule where you can select which day and time you’d like to come in.

It is very important that you KEEP IN MIND I work Wednesday through Saturday and the earliest available appointment is 11AM and the latest appointment is 5PM. Saturdays are therefore the first day to fill up, and if you are unwilling or unable to take time off during the weekdays that I work, it is unlikely we’re gonna be able to find a spot for you. Please be realistic about your schedule!

Deposits

Deposits are NON REFUNDABLE and are subtracted from the total cost of the tattoo. If you are getting a larger, multi session piece done, your deposit will come out of your final appointment. If you need to reschedule your tattoo, a 48 hour notice is required. Please be considerate of this rule! The sooner notice the better, because that way I will be able to fill my empty appointment. If I don’t tattoo, I don’t make money! However, if you are ill, or have an emergency, I’m not a monster. Let me know and we’ll find a good makeup appointment in the future. Additionally, if you reschedule more than twice, this may also result in a lost deposit.

Drawing

I draw 90% of the designs right before the appointment, and do not send out sketches prior to the appointment. If you’re getting a very large, multi session tattoo such as a sleeve I may have you come into the studio a week or so in advance of your appointment to go over any necessary details.

If you come in to your appointment and need edits, I always set aside cushion time in your appointment to accommodate any MINOR changes. Major changes are very rare— usually people know what they’re getting into and are pretty stoked when they see the design. However, if I simply got the design completely wrong (I drew an alligator when you asked for a hummingbird), I can reschedule your appointment without losing your deposit. If the design needs more than two redraws that are not alligator/hummingbird style mixups, we may need to reschedule and the deposit may be lost.

Pricing

I typically price by the piece. The minimum for any appointment is $350. Let me know if you have a budget, I’m almost always able to draw you a cool design within a reasonable price range, and I’ll let you know if what you’re looking for isn’t realistic for your budget. Most tattoos are done at a flat rate that we discuss beforehand. When getting larger, multi-session projects (think sleeves or back pieces) I work at a $250 per hour rate.

Preparing For The Appointment

Three days before your appointment you will get an automatic email reminding you of your upcoming appointment, along with directions on how to get to my studio. If there are any questions, just shoot me an email!

The better you feel during your tattoo, the better the tattoo will feel! Please be well rested, eat a well rounded meal 2 hours before your appointment, and bring sugary snacks to keep your blood sugar up. If you are sick, please contact me in advance to reschedule. My studio is completely private, but make sure the clothing you wear corresponds to the tattoo you’re getting in such a way that you’re completely comfortable. I’ve seen it all, but in a situation that can sometimes be nerve wracking I love for my clients to be as relaxed as possible!

My studio is also VERY small, and for that reason I only have a seating area that can accommodate TWO friends or moral support. If you bring more, they may be asked to leave.

Payment/Tipping

CASH IS ALWAYS PREFERRED! While I am able to process card payments, they will incur a small processing fee (taxes and card processing). If you pay in cash, this fee will be waived. There is no ATM in the immediate vicinity so please come prepared!

Tipping your tattooer is a customary practice as it is in restaurants, bars, or hair salons. While it is never expected, it is always appreciated! Most people tip between 10-20% of their tattoo, but anything is always deeply appreciated. I put a lot of work into every tattoo, as well as the costs of running a shop solo, small though it may be.

thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
